 2012 Stallion Seasons for Sale

 New Stride Thoroughbred Adoption Society 

New Stride Thoroughbred Adoption Society is proud to announce its annual stallion season auction starting immediately and ending on February 16, 2012. All proceeds from the auction are spent directly on our aftercare and adoption programs for retired Thoroughbred racehorses.

Enclosed is a mail-in bid sheet that lists the stallion seasons offered, their pedigrees, stud fees, and the farmswhere they stand. On February 16, all received bids will be reviewed, and bidding will start with the highest figure. Bidders are notified by telephone of the highest starting bid.

Please ensure you provide us with a telephone number where you can be reached on Thursday, February 16, after 6 pm.

All seasons are finalized by telephone as soon as possible after 6 pm on Thursday, February 16. The minimum bid is $500 (unless there is a specified reserve by the stallion owner). Bidding increments of $100 are required.

All payments for seasons are payable immediately and if not received by February 29, 2012, will be available for resale at the discretion of New Stride.

Stallion owners and managers reserve the right to accept only Thoroughbred broodmares that are clean and sound for breeding. Board, care and veterinary expenses are not included in the stallion season price.

Services are sold for the 2012 breeding season on a “no-guarantee”  basis, unless otherwise specified on the bid sheet. You may be able to purchase separate insurance to convert a no-guarantee season into a live-foal season. If you are interested in this option, please contact your insurance agent prior to bidding to ensure your mare qualifies for this type of insurance.

A no-guarantee season is exactly what the term implies. The winning bidder will have the services of the stallion for the cover of one mare during the 2012 breeding season only. Where a live foal guarantee is offered, the mare owner has the right of return the following year, but in either case, there are no refunds.
